Rebecca Pope-Ruark

Rebecca Pope-Ruark, or RPR, is an associate professor in the Department of English where she coordinates and teaches in the Professional Writing and Rhetoric concentration and the Professional Writing Studies interdisciplinary minor. Her research interests include Agile/Scrum project management for student collaboration and faculty development, design thinking – liberal arts connections, and service-learning pedagogies. For her midlife crisis, she developed a six-year-old’s fascination with horses and is a novice dressage rider.

Phillip Motley

Phillip Motley is an associate professor in the Department of Communications at Elon University where he teaches visual communication to undergraduate and graduate students in the Communication Design major and the M.A. in Interactive Media program. His research interests are focused on the pedagogy of design, the professional value of experiential learning, and the roles that human-centered design can have in enhancing higher education.

Joel Hollingsworth

Joel is a senior lecturer and the chair of the Department of Computing Sciences at Elon University. He teaches many courses across the undergraduate computer science curriculum including mobile computing and systems-oriented courses. He is active in mentoring undergraduate research students explore the divide between the physical world and the virtual world.


William Moner

William is an Assistant Professor of Communications at Elon University who teaches in the MA in Interactive Media program with undergraduate teaching in the Communication Design and Media Analytics programs. His research includes work on interactive platforms for collaborative and participatory storytelling, the political economy of social media, and new models of undergraduate education. He plays guitar and volunteers time to support fundraising for local food banks.
